Acupuncture is a treatment modality within Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). An acupuncture treatment involves the insertion of needles into specific points located within the meridian systems of the body. The meridians, also referred to as channels, are a connected, circuit-like system that circulate Qi - our vital life force energy - and Blood throughout the body. In order to access and circulate the Qi within these meridians, needles are inserted into the points along them with the intention of stimulating and bringing Qi to the point. The points are selected strategically, based on the symptoms and underlying condition the patient is experiencing.

As a Registered Acupuncturist, I use the diagnostic and treatment methods of TCM. This holistic method involves identifying, diagnosing, and treating the root cause and underlying health condition(s) that are causing the manifestation of symptoms, in an approach that is completely individualized to the patient's unique pattern. Each patient will undergo a thorough initial intake appointment before acupuncture is performed so that I can identify the root cause of the symptoms that brought you in and diagnose your unique pattern. After the root cause is identified, I will design a treatment plan that will focus on targeting the causation of your symptoms with the hopes that both the symptoms and underlying condition(s) will improve and ideally, be eliminated. My main goal is empower my patients through education and results. My treatment approach involves communication and education so that my patients can understand the fundamentals of TCM and incorporate them into their lifestyle and wellness routine. I aim to enrich my patient's lives via the modalities of TCM, one acupuncture appointment at a time.

Julia is a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac) located in Midland, ON. Julia’s journey with Traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture began when she required physical rehabilitation and decided to try acupuncture, after she was not responding to other recommended therapies. It was through her own experiences and positive results that Julia discovered the transformative benefits of acupuncture, and it was at this point that she knew she needed to dedicate her life to sharing Traditional Chinese medicine with others. In 2022, she graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Acupuncture from Georgian College, achieving honours with distinction in her program. Julia has also received her certification in Facial Cosmetic Acupuncture by the OCTCM, and is always looking to add to her current skill set with other courses and certifications.

Julia practices the modalities under the scope of Traditional Chinese medicine, and was trained with 500 supervised hours performing acupuncture, electroacupuncture, moxibustion, cupping therapy, gua sha, and tui na therapy. In practice, Julia ensures that through open communication and active listening, her patients feel heard and understood during their treatments. As a previous patient herself, Julia is passionate about providing an alternate form of healthcare to her patients, where they can feel comfortable, and that their concerns and needs are acknowledged and incorporated into their treatment. She believes that educating her patients, rather than just providing care, will empower them to become an active party in their own healing journey.

Julia is a fully insured and registered acupuncturist with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO) and is certified in Clean Needle Technique.
